Meet Andy Atis, birthname Andy Eric Manuhutu, a proud Makassar born man who’s got native Moluccan vibes running through his veins. Makassar's his Birth and Hometown, where his amazing single mom, Sophie Hukom, also hails from. Sophie’s roots trace back to the exotic Nalahia in Maluku, picturesque Purwokerto and Magelang in Central Java. When Andy set his sights on the US for some top-tier education, he landed with his relatives, the Aponno family, and kicked off his high school journey at Maranatha High School in Arcadia, California.
He aced it at Maranatha, snagged a scholarship to Azusa Pacific University (APU), and dove into a major in Science and minor in Music. Andy wasn't just hitting the books; he was also a total boss as the International Student Body President for two years straight. In '84, he and his team organized the International Week for World Hunger, which had a killer opening by Miss California 1984, Donna Grace Cherry.
But Andy didn’t stop there—he went full throttle with dual majors at APU and Northrop University, diving into Aerospace Engineering.
After those transformative years in Arcadia, Andy spent time exploring the vibrant neighborhoods of Los Angeles, soaking up every unique experience and broadening his horizons along the way.
